Winding Up an SMSF will incur the following fees:

  • SMSF Administration Fees from 1 July of the financial year through to the month the SMSF is wound up (Essentials - $95/m or Plus - $135/m)
  • Independent Audit Fee for the financial year the SMSF is wound up ($480)
  • Additional SMSF Wind Up Fee ($715)

In addition, where the SMSF has a special purpose trustee company that also needs to be closed, there is a company de-registration fee payable to ASIC. The voluntary company de-registration fee (from 1 July 2020) is $42

Notes:

  •  SMSF is considered inactive when it has $0 assets and the bank account(s) of  the SMSF have been closed.
  • To minimise the cost of winding up an SMSF, we recommend closing the fund as close to 30 June as possible.
  • Other fees many be incurred to complete the final accounts and return for the SMSF.  Please refer to our fee schedule for additional information.
  • All fees should be paid from the SMSFs bank account prior to the fund being wound up.
